About NESI

The Neuroendoscopy Society of India (NESI) was founded in 2013 during the 6th World Congress of the International Federation of Neuroendoscopy (IFNE) in Mumbai. It was initially named as the Neuroendoscopy Study Group of India and the first clinical meeting of the Neuroendoscopy Study Group of India was organized on 5th June 2014 at Bombay Hospital, Mumbai. The primary aim of the society was to develop, nurture, and promote Neuroendoscopy in India. The society has since then been very proactive in the educational activities, awareness, training, and advancing the technology in the field of Neuroendoscopy in this country. Annual conferences have been organized regularly since 2014 along with other periodic activities including live surgery demonstrations, hands-on workshops on cadavers and models, simulation training programs, and didactic lectures on Neuroendoscopy. During the Covid 2019 pandemic, the NESI continued its educational activities on the virtual platform as NESI webinars, and other programs along with the WFNS (Neuroendoscopy) and IFNE. The ever-increasing yearly membership of the society and large participations in its scientific programs, are few testimonials of the success that the society has achieved in last 8 - 9 years and that the kind of interest and enthusiasm it has been able to generate in the minds of young neurosurgeons of India.
